Oak is widely used as a smoking wood in BBQs, not just in New Zealand, but globally, due to its popularity. Its smoky flavor has a rich earthy quality that is more potent than apple and cherry, yet lighter than hickory. As a result, it serves as an excellent introductory wood before experimenting with other types. Oak is highly recommended for smoking beef and chicken wings, as can be seen in the images of our smoked wings.

I wood (will) buy again!

These guys are awesome! Brilliant customer service, put a mix together for me and was on my doorstep the very next day! I got some oak and apple and both woods have been well seasoned and put out a nice clean smoke. Very happy with the product and the service. Will be my regular wood. Supplier.
